Model to 1:16 scale of a waterworks steam plant installed at the Altham pumping station of the Accrington Gas and Water Board. The original was built by Ashton, Frost & Co of Blackburn in 1908 and was scrapped in 1954. Neil Carney of Bolton, Lancs, started the model in 1980 and completed it in 1997. Source for the design was a single small general arrangement drawing occupying just one page in a book. A remarkable achievement and a truly wonderful model.
