Ian Glasspool’s
ASCOT-PULLIN MOTORCYCLE

Another fine model motorcycle by Ian Glasspool shown at Bristol in 2015. It is a 1:3.5 scale model of a 1928 Ascot-Pullin motorcycle.

Ascot-Pullin Motorcycles was founded by Cyril Pullin as the Ascot Motor and Manufacture Co Ltd in Letchworth, Hertfordshire in 1928. An inventor, and winner of the 1914 Isle of Man TT, Pullin had been developing ideas for motorcycle designs since 1920 with Stanley Groom, and had patented a two-stroke motorcycle with pressed sheet metal frame and forks.  Pullin worked with Groom again to refine his ideas and develop and patent the Ascot-Pullin motorcycle. Fewer than 500 were built and the company closed in 1930.
