HORIZONTAL TWIN STEAM ENGINE BUILD
By Julius de Waal

This steam engine was designed to give a twin-cylinder horizontal arranged with a single steam chest. The basic design of this engine was found in a Dutch model magazine but it was only a single cylinder type.

It is so designed that it can be made out of stock material.

Because of its size this engine is more for the skilled model maker who has the facility of some precise and accurate machinery. However anybody who enjoys building model steam engines could have a go at it.

All the practical engineering standards should be used with respect to shafts and holes tolerances.

Where two different materials are sliding or rotating in one and other I have used bronze bushes and incorporated some oil holes.

The materials which are shown on the drawings are indicative only. The model maker can choose the material to his or her own liking and adjust dimension as seen fit.

If you are planning to build this engine, then I hope you that you have a lot pleasure while building it and I hope you have a lot pleasure of operating it.
