Mick Knights’

MASTIFF PLUS WATER COOLED FOUR STROKE I/C ENGINE

Mick Knights’ Mastiff+ is a scaled up version of the Len Mason 1973 classic Mastiff opposed four stroke, water cooled petrol engine. It is scaled up 50% from the 22cc original. All parts are machined from billets rather than castings used on the original design. The workshop includes a Myford Super 7, Sieg mill/drill and a Sieg KX1 CNC milling machine.

The engine is based on a 1930s inboard boat engine and so is a compact unit and, says MIck, has less visual impact than a V8 engine. That said, this scaled up engine makes a fine, impressive model.
