SUPERCHARGED
SLEEVE VALVE TWIN

On display at the 2016 Bristol show was this freelance 30cc supercharged sleeve valve two-stroke engine. The sleeves are driven by an eccentric on the crankshaft. A small open-ended piston between the sleeves acts as a guide to prevent rotation (as found on the Rolls-Royce Crecy).

Ignition is transistorized and uses two 6-volt motorcycle coils. Maximum speed is approx 5,000 rpm with a 22” x 8” propeller.
