HOW TO MAKE A
SINGAPORE BALL
by T Barnes

The Singpore ball is a fascinating object and a great exercise in turning, made easier by using a ball cage. There is information to be found on the internet, but we thought MEWS readers would be interested to see how this young man described building his example, which was entered in the Junior Section of the National Model Engineering & Modelling Exhibition, Harrogate, 2011. He describes it as “simple”. We say its a brilliant exercise which we can now see plenty of others attempting.
