John Castle’s fine 1:8 scale model of a Somerset Waggon, made from David Wray plans, shown at Doncaster in 2018. It is believed that there are only three of these 'Cock Raved' Waggons surviving; two in the Tiverton Museum and one at the Museum of English Rural Life, Reading. There is a wealth of elaborate chamfering and shaping to the timbers on this waggon captured by John in detail that shows the wheelwright’s craft at its finest. The 'Cock Raved' Waggon includes spindle sides with strouters and elaborate chamfering. It is longboarded, with iron axles and hoop tyres.
