Dave Honey’s award winning Stent Tool & Cutter Grinder was pictured at a recent Alexandra Palace exhibition. It was built using commercially available castings, with several modifications to the original design. The spindle is mounted on pre-loaded angular contact bearings, with oil seals to prevent ingress of grinding dust. Wheels are mounted on tapered mandrels which fit inside the spindle and held in place with a drawbar.

The table pinion is mounted in eccentric bushes to minimize play between rack and pinion. All machine adjustments can be made using one spanner and one Allen key. Dave made the pattern for the aluminium wheel guard.
