Photographed at a London Model Engineering Exhibition this engine was shown by Phil Abbott. Designed by Edgar T Westbuury in 1942 for the 1831 rail locomotive it is a twin-cylinder four-stroke petrol engine of around 30cc, designed to drive the locomotive by a friction drive. The engine was made in 1942 and featured in Model Engineer magazine at that time.
