Alasdair Milne’s
1:5 GNOME ENGINE

Alasdair Milne showed his 1:5 scale model of the nine-cylinder Gnome engine at the Bristol show in 2015. This famous engine is a four-stroke, but is unique in having only one valve doubling as both inlet and exhaust. The rich mixture produces a powerful, if inefficient engine. A 1:3 scale model Gnome Monosoupape featured as a MEWS Model to Build to the design of another Bristol regular, Stephen Wessell. Drawings are available for that.
