An iconic I/C engine from the MEWS archive, photographed at a Brighton exhibition. The BollAero 18 is a 1.8cc side-port, compression ignition engine designed by Chris Boll for home construction from bar  stock. Chris modeled it after the smaller ML Midge designed by Mark Lubbock. Plans for the engine originally appeared in Aviation Modeller International, and then in the late Ron Chernich’s Model Engine News where Ron re-drew it in Alibre and made it available for download here.
