This excellent model of a Canadian National ‘switcher’ was displayed at the 2014 Midlands Model Engineering Exhibition. Unfortunately, we do not have details of the builder. However, we are pretty sure that it is to the Martin Evans Caribou 0-8-0 design. This is a large, powerful locomotive in 3.5” gauge, but said to be not too difficult to build. Overall length is 48.25”. Boiler is 4.75” dia, cylinder bore 1.375”, and driving wheel diameter 3.125”. It featured steel bar frames and cast drag beams. Martin also produced a 2-8-0 version which he called Buffalo. Castings and drawings are still available.
