1:4 SCALE FODEN SPEED SIX ROAD TRACTOR

The 1:4 scale Foden Speed Six shown by Norman Smedley at the Midlands Exhibition in 2019, before Covid-19 closed things down. It is being built as Works No.14042 in 1931 and when complete will have an oil-fired copper boiler to replace the temporary 3D printed boiler fitted here.
The twin cylinder poppet valve engine is coupled to a two speed gearbox with cardan shaft drive to the rear axle which has a six-start worm and wheel drive to the differential.
All four wheels have working brakes.
All of the engine components have been conventionally machined from the solid. Only the wheels, brake drums and brake shoes have been machined from castings made to the builder's patterns.
