The Guildford Rally and Exhibition once again lived up to its reputation as an event which provides a great family day out and some eye-opening exhibits. Generally, everyone has a great time at Guildford, keeping the kids happy for a few hours or delving into the finer points of new models on display. The event is good as one at which there is plenty to do. Plenty of train rides for all ages. Drive a boat in one of the pools. Get squirted with water by a dinosaur in the other pool. Ride behind a traction engine. Watch Gauge 1 and 16mm in action. Be impressed by the display of models of all types. Have a bacon butty for lunch and an ice cream in the afternoon. And, of course, do a bit of shopping for those bits of material and tools that you will need in the workshop next week, inspired by the day out in the Surrey County town.
