LISTER JUNIOR

PETROL ENGINE

By David Nunes

This Lister Junior was shown by David Nunes at the 2019 London Model Engineering Exhibition at Alexandra Palace. The Junior is popular among engine collectors and examples  can always be found popping away at rallies. Petrol engines filled the gap between steam and electric mobile power. Restoring one is a popular project.

Modellers are well catered for with the Junior engine available as drawings and castings from the Engineers Emporium. This is a clever design which can be machined on a 3.5” lathe including the flywheels and the base. Stan Bray described building one in Model Engineer magazine back in the early naughties.
