Model Engineer magazine has been sold.

It then continued under several owners until 2006 when the then owning company went bust. Since then evolving interests have maintained publication.
Mortons has also taken on Model Engineers Workshop, RCM&E, and Model Boats magazines from the MyTime Media stable. The magazines will all continue under their existing editors.
Owen Davies, MyTime Media’s chief executive, explains: “We have owned these magazines for over 15 years but with our business focus changing within the group, we have concluded that the titles’ future plans are best served by new ownership.
“I’m very confident that Mortons Media, with its long-term approach to publishing, is a good home for the staff and the titles; the people at Mortons are passionate about magazines, and already publish other magazines which these tiles will complement.”
Ian Fisher, Mortons’ chairman, said he was looking forward to adding the four titles to the company’s wide-ranging portfolio, and that they were a “good fit” for Mortons Media Group, which publishes a large number of magazines and special interest bookazines and books. It also organizes a dozen events/shows a year.
“Our team here is very much looking forward to working with everyone on these new titles and providing quality products for our readers. Each of the new titles brings something slightly different to our group, and we are very excited at the opportunities they will provide us,” he added.
Future of the magazines’ forums is not clear. Mortons does not mention them.
MyTime Media’s website has removed the sold titles from its list of brands but says that alongside its leading magazine brands “MyTime Media also operates a number of hobby events and websites including radio controlled models, woodworking, quilting and model engineering to name a few.”
No doubt all will become clear.
The ME plans service was sold several years earlier and is now looked after by Sarik Hobbies.
