From the MEWS archive, this model of a steam launch was photographed at a Brighton exhibition. The 1:12 Miranda design by Basil Harley has formed the basis of many models. It is a typical Edwardian launch based on the National Maritime Museum’s Waterlily. It was designed for plank on frame construction, powered by a twin cylinder double acting oscillating engine.
