Photographed at a Midlands Model Engineering Exhibition, this 5” scale locomotive was built from a Winson/Modelworks kit. The General is a 4-4-0 loco built by Rogers, Ketchum & Grosvenor in 1855. It last ran in 1966 and is now preserved in Georgia, USA. It starred in two movies documenting its escapades during the American Civil War when it was stolen by the Union in an attempt to disrupt Confederate supply routes.
