GARDEN RAILWAY TIPPING WAGON

For those people who like to do some scratch building of rolling stock for their LGB layout here is a simple project for a tipping car. This little car can be made out any material you wish to use. Some people prefer plastic card or styrene, others may like to work in brass or other metal, and some prefer wood.
The drawings which I have produced are based on using brass as the building material.
The reason for this is that brass easily solders together so that there is no need for the use of screws and nuts, so therefore there is a minimal of holes to drill.
Also the material thicknesses are standard 0.5m and 1mm and are easy to obtain from hobby shops. The wheel sets are standard LGB plastic or metal wheel and the hook is also standard LGB.
The whole unit consists of only 14 parts. However, some of the parts have to be made multiple times. This is all shown on the drawings.
The construction of the car is quite simple and a few hand tools such as files, drilling machine, hand shears, etc will suffice. If it is made out of metal than may be holes have to be drilled and screws and nuts have to be used to fasten it all together, if brass is used than a soldering iron and solder can be used to put it all together.
In the case styrene or another type of plastic material is used, or wood, the appropriate glues can be used.
Drawing TCJDW-002 shows how the parts all fit together.
