WEIR VERTICAL BOILER FEED PUMP

This Weir vertical boiler feed pump was displayed at the 2019 London Model Engineering Exhibition at Alexandra Palace. It is part of the SMEE collection. Built in 1948 by Cdr Barker it was restored in 2016 by Owen Bird and Maurce Fagg.
It has a single cylinder engine approx 0.75” bore by 1.5” stroke driving a water pump of about 0.625” bore. Steam chest valve is approx 0.5” bore with inlet and outlet valves. Pump is fitted with two drum valve chest. On the outlet with valve is an expansion/damping chamber. Feed tank is 2” dia 4.5” high.
Design was based on a blueprint supplied by Weir of their standard 12 x 9 x 24 inch boiler feed pump.
