MEWS receives a number of enquiries about models - especially from people looking to find a value. While trying to be helpful, generally we are unable help them directly. However, we break the rule this time, as we were intrigued.

John Ayres emailed us to enquire about an unusual model which had us guessing. He asks: “I’m wondering if you can be of some assistance to point me in the right direction? My dad worked at GWR / BR for over 50 years as a soil mechanics engineer (tracks / landslides etc), and one of his colleagues built this unusual 5” gauge model it is 100 cm x 18 cm wide x 23 cm high (25.5 cm inc board)  - apologies for the metric..! and weighs approx 25 kg. He is wondering about a good home for it.”
