From the MEWS archive this Claude B Reeve design dating from the 1960s was updated by John Wilding and described in a book from Rite Time Publishing.

The design is unusual with an exceptional escapement of the sort normally found in a turret or other large clock. It is a four arm gravity escapement and so independent of any variation of friction in the driving train. This results in excellent timekeeping, especially with a carbon fibre pendulum rod fitted.

This clock is more complex than  many to build as it has a four wheel driving train, rather than three fitted to most clocks, and careful attention has to be paid to friction reduction. Even so  there must be sufficient power to operate the escapement. Hywel explains: “This is not really a clock for the first time constructor but the clearly explained instructions from Rite Time are extremely comprehensive.”
