BRIDGET 7.25” GAUGE

DESIGNED BY KEN SWAN

By D Hammond

Ken Swan’s Bridget design is a true classic which helped to promote 7.25” gauge in the UK. Not surprising, really, as it brings that gauge within the compass of even a small home workshop. It can be machined on a Myford sized lathe. Not only that, the design and the drawings are readily acknowledged as among the best. This great example was shown at the 2019 National Model Engineering and modelling Exhibition at Doncaster by D Hammond. The locomotive is 38” long, has a 5” dia boiler, 5” dia driving wheels. Cylinders are 1.5” dia.
