FODEN C-TYPE FLAT BED STEAM WAGON
Foden steam wagons are always popular exhibits at exhibitions, especially larger versions like this C-type flat bed in 1:2 scale shown by John Harris at the Bristol show. It is interesting that this is available from John Rex, ready made or for self-build. Kits in two scales are also available from another supplier. And another supplies castings for a smaller version.
Built for about ten years from 1922, Foden’s C-type was widely regarded as probably the best over-type steam wagon. Many were scrapped and today’s survivors are worth six figures (pounds stg).
