Brian Newbound’s
LADY STEPHANIE
BEAM ENGINE

Tubal Cain was one of the great designers of model steam engines, and one of his most popular was Lady Stephanie, a pumping beam engine. The design was first published in Engineering in Miniature in the early 1980s. Drawings and castings are available, and it has also been built using fabrications rather than castings. This example was built by Brian Newbound and displayed at the Bristol show, where other engines of his have appeared, including a Double Tangye Mill Engine and a Triple Expansion Marine Engine.
