SCISSORS CLOCK

Clive Lawrence

The scissors clock is one of John Wilding’s classic designs. This unusual timmepiece is quite spectacular in action with its contra-oscillating compound pendulums. The hands and key continue the scissor theme. John’s original clock was entirely made on a Unimat 3 lathe. It is described in a construction book of 76 pages with 240 illustrations which is available from www.clockmaking-brass.co.uk as are wheels, pinions, etc
