CURLY’S SIMPLE

LMS CLASS 4F LOCO

PART 2/2 by Julius de Waal

Julius revisits in metric Curly’s design for a simple LMS class 4F locomotive. He described it as a “toy” but a “powerful and realistic one”. He added: “There is, of course, no obligation to stick to the outline of the LMS 4F engine; the ‘top works’ can be made to represent any locomotive having this wheel arrangement. Also sizes of wheels and other parts can be varied to suit materials in hand.”
