With Spring about to appear here in the UK, it’s time to think about warmer days to come, and the notion that every model engineer should have a Stirling engine powered desk fan. This example was spotted at the 2015 Midlands Model Engineering Exhibition, displayed by E K Morris.There are a number of designs around, and this one seems to be one from the series of books Steam & Stirling Engines You Can Build, and available from Camden Miniature Steam Services,  Village Press and other good booksellers. The books contain articles originally published in LIve Steam magazine and include enough projects for a lifetime. The Stirling engined desk fan should make a nice project to complete before summer reaches the northern hemisphere.
